New build: 1.4.668.583

Moorgate has gone live at a client. There have been a few hiccups but on the whole it seems relatively smooth and is working well. Well done to the implementers on supporting it to Production and over these first few weeks.

This build adds some urgently needed functionality to the Manual Recon screen that had not been picked up on before. You can get it from the Twenty57 website.

  • Single-entry matching is now allowed
  • Same-side matching of Confirmations which have a unit difference within the Fund tolerance

A big thank you to Anand and the team for the quick work in getting this build out.

I hope everyone has a wonderful festive season and New Years! May 2012 send Moorgate onto greater heights.

The following features have been added:

And Bugs fixed:

There is a new Moorgate build available on the Twenty57 website. Version 1.4.649.541 has some changes to the Tag screen.

1. Bug Fix: Tags can now be deleted.
2. Tag Screen ordering is defaulted to ID desc (so the newest Tags are shown first).
3. Tag Create Date has been included in the filter and the grid.

A number of client sites are close to Go-live. Good luck for the production switch over. I look forward to hearing how it goes and what your experiences are when you start using Moorgate daily.

Moorgate 1.4.643.529 available for download

There is a new Moorgate build available from Twenty57. The Balancing Entry and Market Action functionality has been extended to make it easier to manage the Market Actions from identification through to Authorisation and Completion.

Balancing Entries and Market Actions

  • Balancing Entry Type has been added so you know what the recon difference is for: Setup>Balancing Entry Types to maintain.
  • Default Type can be set and will appear first in any dropdowns
  • Type is required for any differences - auto and manual matched
  •  New Market Action Status's: Authorised and Submitted
  • New User role 'Manager'. A Manager can authorise 'Initiated' Market Actions
  • External Systems can process Authorised MA's and update them to 'Submitted'
  • Profiles on the MA screen allow you to customise your view
  • Recon's relating to MA's which have been Authorised, Submitted or Completed cannot be removed
Other Features
  • Dashboard: Only grid refreshes not the whole page
  • Report Frames are bigger
  • Bug: Export to csv duplication fixed
  • Confirmation Definition Import Rollback
As always all feedback is wanted. Let me know how you find the improved Market Action process as well as your everyday interaction with Moorgate.

Moorgate 1.4.604.441 is available

There is a new build of Moorgate available, 1.4.604.441, and it can be downloaded from the Twenty57 website:
http://www.twenty57.com/Twenty57/Moorgate/Download.aspx?product=Moorgate

The following features have been added:
  • Manual Recon: 'Auto-Reconcile' button to reconcile exact matches quickly. Matches within the tolerance for the Fund will also be reconciled immediately, with the Balancing entry being created automatically
  • Filters: Records can be filtered on two different Tag Types/ Tags at the same time. The 'OR' condition on the Last Tag Type and Last Tag filter fields will be by default enabled.
  • Profiles: Users can save filters and reuse them. Once a Profile is saved, the Expand () and collapse () icons next to the filter can be used to view, edit and load the profiles on both the Manual Recon and Transaction and Confirmation screens. Separate profiles are saved for Transactions and Confirmations.
  • New screens, 'View Transactions Across Accounts' and 'View Confirmations across Accounts', allow the user to search across all Product Companies they are associated with.

The next release will include better Account filter dependency on the screens which allow across Account searching (View across Accounts, Landing Page and Market Actions) and some enhancements to the Initiate Market Action screen.

The Moorgate Roadmap is on the blog

No major new features are planned for Moorgate at this stage. It is still in the testing stage at most clients and we will have a better idea of what enhancements are required once it is live and used daily. We do plan on investigating different reporting options and the possibility of performing other types of recon's in Moorgate.

If you have any comments or suggestions, or feel that something is missing from the Roadmap, leave a comment or send me an email.

Moorgate Help Pages

Moorgate help is hosted on the Twenty57 website and can also be setup in Moorgate directly, allowing users to easily access it.

To set it up you need to be assigned the admin role

You will now see a Contents mneu item under the Help parent menu which is accessible to all users.

The help contains information for both daily users as well as administrators. If you feel anything else should be added to the help or something is incorrect, please let me know

Default a Report Parameter in Moorgate

Moorgate has application wide filtering on an account level so defaulting and disabling the Report parameters does not make sense since you generally want to run a report on a larger dataset. You can default certain parameters if needed by ensuring they are named as follows in the RDL (case is important):
UserID
ProductCompanyID
ProductID
FundCompanyID
FundID

There are requirements however to ensure that a user can only run Reports for Product Companies to which they are assigned. This can be done as follows:

  1. Right click outside of the Report in the layout tab to open the Report parameters box
  2. Create a Parameter with the name UserID  in the Report and return a list of active users in the Database to populate it in the available values
  3. Make this parameter 'Hidden'
  4. Make your Product Company parameter dependent on the UserID
The Report User Parameter then 'matches' to the application UserID and defaults to the logged in value, ensuring the Product Company dropdown is filtered correctly. It is hidden so the user cannot change it, thus disabling it.

Only the text and case of the Parameter names in the RDL is important. It doesn't matter what the Label is, or the name of the parameters in the Datasets.

What to expect in the next few versions of Moorgate

Most of the current user requests have been done. There should be a build available towards the end of the week containing the following:

  • Profiles
  • Search across accounts on both Transactions and Confirmations
  • Reconcile Exact Matches quickly
  • Search for two Tag Types and Tags
I will let you know when it is available and provide more details with the Release note extract.

The following issues will be addressed in future releases:
  • Import Asset Allocation file provided by Finswitch
  • Market Actions - add filters and investigate Tag Type Requirements.
The Product Roadmap will be added to the blog soon so keep a look out for it and send through any ideas, queries or comments.
