The Moorgate Roadmap is on the blog

No major new features are planned for Moorgate at this stage. It is still in the testing stage at most clients and we will have a better idea of what enhancements are required once it is live and used daily. We do plan on investigating different reporting options and the possibility of performing other types of recon's in Moorgate.

If you have any comments or suggestions, or feel that something is missing from the Roadmap, leave a comment or send me an email.

Moorgate Help Pages

Moorgate help is hosted on the Twenty57 website and can also be setup in Moorgate directly, allowing users to easily access it.

To set it up you need to be assigned the admin role

You will now see a Contents mneu item under the Help parent menu which is accessible to all users.

The help contains information for both daily users as well as administrators. If you feel anything else should be added to the help or something is incorrect, please let me know

Default a Report Parameter in Moorgate

Moorgate has application wide filtering on an account level so defaulting and disabling the Report parameters does not make sense since you generally want to run a report on a larger dataset. You can default certain parameters if needed by ensuring they are named as follows in the RDL (case is important):
UserID
ProductCompanyID
ProductID
FundCompanyID
FundID

There are requirements however to ensure that a user can only run Reports for Product Companies to which they are assigned. This can be done as follows:

  1. Right click outside of the Report in the layout tab to open the Report parameters box
  2. Create a Parameter with the name UserID  in the Report and return a list of active users in the Database to populate it in the available values
  3. Make this parameter 'Hidden'
  4. Make your Product Company parameter dependent on the UserID
The Report User Parameter then 'matches' to the application UserID and defaults to the logged in value, ensuring the Product Company dropdown is filtered correctly. It is hidden so the user cannot change it, thus disabling it.

Only the text and case of the Parameter names in the RDL is important. It doesn't matter what the Label is, or the name of the parameters in the Datasets.

What to expect in the next few versions of Moorgate

Most of the current user requests have been done. There should be a build available towards the end of the week containing the following:

  • Profiles
  • Search across accounts on both Transactions and Confirmations
  • Reconcile Exact Matches quickly
  • Search for two Tag Types and Tags
I will let you know when it is available and provide more details with the Release note extract.

The following issues will be addressed in future releases:
  • Import Asset Allocation file provided by Finswitch
  • Market Actions - add filters and investigate Tag Type Requirements.
The Product Roadmap will be added to the blog soon so keep a look out for it and send through any ideas, queries or comments.
